EMYA opens for the Baltimore Consort!

SHAK's Early Music Youth Academy plays a half-hour mini-concert of music from Renaissance France to open for the beloved Baltimore Consort. Nine skilled students aged 12-15 play the pleasing melodies and beautifully lilting harmonies of this era's dance music and polyphony on lute, harp, recorder, violins, and bass and tenor viola da gamba. The ensemble is led from the violin by director Shulamit Kleinerman.
This event is for ticket-holders to the main concert. We play at 6:30pm and the main concert starts at 7:30, with a half hour break between the two events. Audience members have time to bring a picnic dinner to eat at tables in the atrium downstairs, or buy a sandwich or salad at the coffeeshop there.
We'll also be performing at 1:30pm on April 2, before the 2:30 concert.
