Perform Music of the Middle Ages!

After a five-day workshop singing real medieval music, our group gives public performances at Camlann Medieval Village under the name "Good Yonge Voyces." You can see glimpses from our past seasons here! Participants learn exciting, fun melodies from the 12th-15th centuries in small and large ensembles, led by director Shulamit Kleinerman and accompanied by instruments of the period such as the vielle, rebec, and harp. 

Who can participate:

  • Kids and teens, 7-17
  • From newcomers to experienced singers
  • Everyone works at their own level
  • No special background is required
  • Please be able to match pitch
  • Instrumentalist participation is by invitation only; please inquire

Know before you enroll:

Newcomers to SHAK are invited to either meet with Shula in advance or provide a reference contact (such as a music teacher) who can speak to the participant's ability to match pitch. Returning participants who have sung in just one theatrical performance with SHAK should inquire before enrolling. Those who have sung with SHAK more than once may enroll directly.

Mon-Fri Aug 20-24 at at director's studio in Lake City

9:30-1:30 (Instrumentalists may be invited to stay till 2:30)

Performances:

Sat-Sun Aug 25-26 at Camlann Medieval Village

Arrive at 11am for afternoon performances ending at 5pm

Tuition:

Regular tuition: $280
