Seattle Historical Arts for Kids

Baroque ensemble music, added in 2021, is our Early Music Youth Academy's newest offering. String students borrow real Baroque bows — and sometimes gut-strung Baroque instruments — so that they can discover the lively articulations that bring seventeenth- and eighteenth-century music to life. Sometimes recorder or harpsichord students join too, and vocal soloists may join for some special projects. Professional guest artists round out most ensembles, giving students the experience of being embedded in the historical-performance sound world.
