EMYA's 4th Songs & Dances Party

Salle Saint-George, 1020 NE 112th Street, Seattle WA

The spring semester of the Early Music Youth Academy concludes with a casual concert-party welcoming all ages. Our kid and teen instrumental participants, guest teen vocalists, and professional guest musicians offer up songs and instrumental music, followed by an opportunity for the audience to join in a bit of song and dance with us. The program lasts one hour and ALL ages are welcome.

(If you are coming to the Salle for the first time, be sure to check out its side-street location on the map below.)

This semester we share music of Renaissance Italy, including raucous dances by Giorgio Mainerio, elegant fantasias by Ruffo and Bassano, and flashy variations on the La Folia ground by Falconieri. We'll show how music changed around 1600 with the beginning of Baroque style. You can sing a madrigal and dance a pavan with us!

Featuring: --EMYA participants on harp, recorder, violins and violas da gamba --Guest vocalists and instrumentalists TBD, with EMYA director Shulamit Kleinerman (violin)
